Contextual Fit

This project was to design an addition to an existing structure using the surrounding context. By using the existing context of the building and by analyzing and utilizing methods used in the original structure.  The model used was "Smith House", designed by Richard Meier in 1965, located on the Long Island Sound.

Narrative:

The Thomas Family is very family orientated and has recently purchased the Smith house and with the size of their family, they have decided to get an addition put onto the house. They are planning to add a two-floor extension of a family room, so the kids have room to play and entertain the guest. With Mr. Thomas being a golfer, he would like if we can include something resembling golf. They would also like for the addition to not stand out too much from the original.
